What we seek; We have an exciting new opportunity for an exceptional candidate to be responsible for strategic leadership in growing the US Marine Science team and acting as a senior consultant to our offshore clients. The position will be based in San Francisco Bay area with national responsibilities for business development, technical excellence and client relationships, with a particular focus on the emerging offshore wind energy sector and our offshore hydrocarbons client base, including platform decommissioning. You would be able to work from your home region and potentially a small Worley Group office in Vancouver, Washington.
In addition to opportunities and projects on the East and West Coasts, there is a requirement to work closely with our marine science colleagues in Vancouver, Canada and with our engineering colleagues and internal Worley clients in Houston and the Gulf Coast.
This new and exciting opportunity will report to the Lead - Environment & Society, USA.Primary Objectives and Accountabilities of the Role
  • Capitalize on the existing opportunities in the offshore wind sector on the US East Coast and nascent project development on the US West Coast, as well as hydrocarbon opportunities in the Gulf of Mexico and elsewhere
  • Identify new opportunities and manage proposal preparation and client-facing activities
  • Build and enhance our marine capability
  • Establish a strategy for growth for Marine Sciences
  • Help build a Marine Sciences practice across the Americas
  • Help identify and mentor members of the Marine Sciences team to support their technical and career development
  • Be an Advisian ambassador in the field and participate in conferences and with papers



Experience and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated commitment to HSE leadership
  • Expert knowledge in the marine sciences
  • A strong network within the regulatory community (such as NMFS, NOAA, BOEM and BSEE), the offshore wind industry and hydrocarbons exploration and production organizations
  • Excellent client interfacing skills and business development
  • Track record of successful management of projects / work packages to meet agreed budget and schedule
  •  Technical reporting prowess
  •  Preparation of proposals, budget estimates and schedules for projects / work packages
  • Proven record of team development and growth, including a network of potential contract marine specialists and potential team hire
