Your Tasks:

Provides services and support for the following main components/systems and activities:

  • Heat recovery steam generator and gas heated steam boiler
  • Natural gas take-over stations
  • Pipelines and fittings for water-steam cycle, etc.
  • Rotating equipment (turbines (gas- and steam turbines), gears, generators, pumps, compressors)
  • Other Balance of Plant (BoP) equipment (dump condenser, fin-fan coolers, etc.)
  • Welding and connection technology
  • Quality control (QC) activities and pre-operational activities in the fields of
  • Documentation management
  • Cold- and hot commissioning like check of mechanical completion, set-up of commissioning schedules
  • Spare parts management.

  • Supporting the Employer in technical discussions with the suppliers for the special areas of mechanical and system engineering such as for the pipework, balance of plant equipment (BoP), gas turbines, heat recovery steam generators, steam turbines, package boilers, gas stations, the general planner/designer (EPCM), authorities or experts – principally in Kemsley, UK, and occasionally at the clients project manager’s request at other locations (e.g. Munich and/or Coventry)

  • Collaborating in monitoring the fulfilment of the contractual agreements between the Employer and mechanical and system engineering suppliers

  • Plausibility check of the scheduling framework (production, fitting, commissioning) of the suppliers for the special areas of mechanical and system engineering

  • Immediately notifying the project manager and the Employer’s General Site Management Service Provider of significant events that affect technical, scheduling and commercial agreements or decisions

  • Reviewing and commenting on documents prepared by the general planner/designer and by the suppliers for the specialist areas of mechanical and system engineering

  • Monitoring compliance with the relevant provisions, guidelines and norms/standards for the special areas of mechanical and system engineering

  • Coordinating and monitoring of the production and fitting measures for the special areas of mechanical and system engineering on the building site in liaison with the Employer’s General Site Management Service Provider.

  • Assisting with the coordination of the Employer's QA measures

  • Assist Employer’s QA/QC service provider and execute quality control (QC) activities on site mainly related to BoP facilities (pipework welding, etc.)

  • Checking and monitoring that the production and fitting activities for the specialist areas of mechanical and system engineering on the building site are executed correctly by the suppliers in line with industrial standards, drawings and contracts, including:
    • Monitoring the progress of assembly
    • Detecting and recording damage and shortcomings and non-contractual execution
    • Tracking and monitoring the rectification of damage and shortcomings and non-contractual execution
    • Participating in interface co-ordinations between the general planner/designer, the suppliers, the client/site and the Employer for the specialist areas of mechanical engineering

  • For rotating equipment (turbines, gears, generators, pumps, compressors etc.): Specialist monitoring and checking of the assembly and commissioning of the related components (e.g. testing alignment protocol)

  • Demonstrating irregularities and faults to the general planner/designer and suppliers; running and keeping track of fault lists (LOP) in coordination with the Employer’s General Site Management Service Provider.

  • Execution and coordination of the final fitting (mechanical) inspections for the special areas of mechanical and system engineering, preparation and managing of the relevant protocols

  • Participating in all relevant meetings in liaison with the Employer’s General Site Management Service Provider, or as his representative if needed;

  • Execute and lead meetings with suppliers in the areas of the mechanical related components/ systems and activities as indicated above and prepare the minutes of such meetings.

  • Provide input regarding status and progress related to the mechanical components/ systems and activities on weekly basis to the Employer’s General Site Management Service Provider.

  • Supporting the HSE site manager/ health and safety coordinator and the Employer’s General Site Management Service Provider in monitoring compliance with the statutory and project-specific work safety and environmental protection requirements as well as the construction site regulations and the requirements applicable to the site

  • Supporting the Employer’s General Site Management Service Provider and Commissioning Management Service Provider in the planning and execution of the commissioning and test operation

  • Collaboration in the checking of the “as-built” documentation for completeness, content and plausibility

  • Accepting, checking for completeness and managing of spare and wear parts provided by the suppliers; recording in the Employer’s/site’s management system for spare and wear parts; storing in the Employer/site’s warehouse

  • Accepting, checking for completeness and managing of documentation files provided by the suppliers in paper and electronic form; processing, collation and itemisation according to the Employer’s/site rules and collated handover to the Employer/site

Your Background:

  • Bachelor of (mechanical) Engineering/ Bachelor of Science
  • Industrial experience of equal or more than 8 years in comparable works and services
  • Relevant safety education- minimum valid SCC Certificate
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Team and project management skills
  • If possible UK experience
  • Knowledge in the field of quality control (QC) on site
  • Knowledge in water-steam systems
